Adding a wired pc to a wireless system

I am renting a room in a house that has one computer on a wireless system. I have a wired PC and don't know how to hook it up. I don't want the computers to access each other's information. How do I do that? I'm not very experienced with computers.

What are you planning on connecting the wired computer to? Do you have access to the router that supplies the wireless connection?

There is a router. Can I just run a wire from the router to my computer? If so, what is that kind of wire called so I can buy one?

You run a plain Ethernet CAT5/CAT5e/CAT6 patch cable, whichever one you find that fits your budget. You can get cables starting at less than $5 for 6 foot ones.
