Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter ! No Internet

Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter Shows ! on my XP Dell which has lost ablity to get into internet. Sony laptop (Vista) in same LAN working fine. Ping around all LAN devices works fine. Tivo link works fine. MSTMA in Dell is apparently unrepairable and uninstallable. Google search shows long-standing varied problems and many "solutions". A very long thread here ended with a solution posted by Zozula 08/17/06 and this thread is now closed.

Does Zozula's solution work?
Is there a simpler solution that also works?
Did you have this problem and used a workable solution?
Anybody know how this thing popped up in my hardware Devices?

Thanks for any help.

Charlie (Running a Dell with XP, a Sony laptop w/Vista all linked with Tivo and Netgear Router utilizing Comcast broadband all of which was working fine until recently.)

Re: Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter ! No Internet

My solution worked (for me, at least).
Simpler solutions can be found in that very long thread of mine, that may have worked for others, but didn't for me; so you can also try those out first.
I personally never understood what made the Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter show up in my PC (probably I fiddled with TCP v.6 at some point), but I now know what made it go away.
However, since you're experiencing connection problems in general, I'd say first make MTMA go away and then follow a thorough connection-troubleshooting procedure.

Re: Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter ! No Internet

Start, Run, IPV6 uninstall

Reboot.

See if that helps.
