WBR-2310 random connection interuptions issue

I play online games quite frequently (world of warcraft especially) and this router tends to give me random lag spikes of about 3 seconds when i'm on a wireless connection. Sometimes during these lag spikes, the "Now connected to your network" pops up as if the computer completely lost connection and had to reconnect.

I have opened both ports with the correct application name, but the lag spikes still happen. This does not happen when i'm hardwired or even on a wireless connection with a different router

what can i do to fix this (other than buy another router)

Try changing the channel on the router, that's the first step.

Already did that. I've done further research on this product and read many customer reviews. Out of 56 reviews, 15 gave it 4 or 5 stars, 9 gave it 2-3 stars 31 gave this product 1 star, citing the same problem I'm having, the connections is as slow as a snail even at FULL BARS.

I've heard this router has heating problems where if it is subject to too much of a load, it starts to slow up and eventually will just seize up.

Now, you can give me a real answer as to why i get connection interuptions during high packet traffic, or I can chuck your product, give it a poor review (like 31 other people on amazon.com), get a linksys or netgear and never look back.

Well, it's not "my" product, I have no affiliation with D-Link or any other networking company.
