Internet says connected but i cannot load web browsers
Okay so my main problem is that when i start up my computer, i have internet but after a little while, i try to connect to internet explorer or firefox the connection times out as if my internet has died. i have checked my modem and router and they all say my internet is fine and working. My aim and msn and games that are already up and running that are connected to the internet will stay working but if i try to restart the program and try to access internet through any program it will not work anymore. I have ran spy ware search, anti virus search, disabled firewall, tried a new hardwire to my computer, nothing seems to work beside restarting my computer. Once restarted internet works for a bit then seems to shut off. I am 100% positive that this is on my computers end, its not the router or modem or isp. i have tried reformatting and that did not work. before that i tried using a restore point and that did not work either. I cannot seem to figure this problem out. i have tried the hardwire that is currently connected to my desktop, tried connecting that to my laptop and the laptop works perfectly fine. all other computers on the router work perfect but yet my desktop will not work properly. Any help?

Re: Internet says connected but i cannot load web browsers
Try these simple tests after you have teh failure.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt: In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands one at a time, followed by the Enter key: IPCONFIG PING <computer_IP_address> PING <default_gateway_address> PING 216.109.112.135 PING yahoo.com Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. <computer_IP_address> - The IP Address of your computer, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above. <default_gateway_address> - The IP address of the Default Gateway, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
