Router disconnects me from the internet every so often.

Been having a few problems with my router and well... here's the new one.

Started happening this morning, every minute or so the router just stops working, meaning i cannot get onto the internet.

I've got a Netgear RangeMAX ADSL Modem Wireless Router DG834PN.

Have four main lights on the router, one for signal one for the port im using at the back of the router. Both working fine.

The other two lights which determine the connection are the problem, they disappear every minute or so and i have to repair the connection and or take out the Ethernet cable.

Since im on a Desktop the router is connected to my pc but the same problem seems to happening on the laptop too, which is wireless.

Any ideas? thanks in advance

Sounds like a common element. If it's the Internet light that goes out, it could be the ISP. Identifying the exact behavior with the exact labels on the indicators would be helpful here.

right ok, the first indicator that is cut off seems to be the internet one.

When the light is on it indicates ''The Internet port has detected a link with an attached device''

when it blinks it indicates ''Data is being transmitted or received by the Internet port''

The other light that keeps disappearing is for the PPP Link. If the light is on then its mean ''PPP link is active or has reached idle timeout''

When its off it indicates ''No PPP link, modem is off, or no ADSL connection''.

My ISP is Tiscali and up until now its been working fine. Happened first on the laptop then as if it feeded through onto mine.

Well, since the PPP light goes off, it's either the modem, your interior wiring (filters, phone wiring, etc.) or the ISP. Since it was working, did you change ANYTHING about the phones, move filters, etc.? If not, call Tiscali and complain.
