Connecting Xbox360 to wireless internet
I have continuously tried to connect my xbox 360 to my computer. I currently have a dlink wireless network adapter connected allowing me to have internet. I have allowed internet connection sharing under my wireless network connection. And i still cant connect to xbox live. I believe it might be my wireless network because i have messed around with it in the past. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Connecting Xbox360 to wireless internet
XboxHelp,
While this can be done, it's a messy and problematic solution as there are issues with XP's internet connection sharing and whatever firewall you're running on your XP Wireless PC. Wireless connections via ANY game systems (XBOX 360, Sony PS3, etc.) are messy and problematic. Your best bet it to run a WIRED connection between your XBOX 360 and your Router. If this is not possible let me know. I've spend countless hours trying help others do exactly what you're trying to do and so much of it is contingent on both your router and PC's configuration. Even gamesystem like the PS3, which have built-in WiFi capability have issues with speed and staying connected to WiFi connections. Even with THESE game systems, I've ended up making hard-wired connections to resolve Internet access issues. I say this not to discourage you from what you're trying to do, but from a history of failed attempts at making what you're trying to do possible. I'd either go with a WIRED connection between your router and XBOX 360 or invest in a dedicated wireless adapter for your XBOX 360. - John |
