OS: Win 98, Xp, 2000, 2003, linux, vista, linux


After change of DC ip addres, one client connect ot privious address [Moved from XP]

Our office DC change the with NEW IP ADDRESS.

but now all the client do not coneect to this DC by his name <ComputerName>.

When client ping to <ComputerName> of dc , its showing he try to connect privious IP ADDRSS.

I want to know how to Solve this problem ?

This has something to see with the DNS servers, I'll move you to networking where you'll have better help.

Go to start => run and type ipconfig /flushdns

Without any additional information, I would guess that the new address has not propagated to the DNS servers.

@ johnwill : if I may hijack the thread for a sec (this could be useful to the OP)

When that happens, what can you do except wait for the DNS servers to update ? Would contacting your ISP help ? Anything you can do on your computer except setting the ip address manually in the hosts file or using other dns servers (like opendns for instance) ?
