I'm using a dell 2400 dimension desktop with windows home xp sp2
while trying to install AOL 9.oVR onto my computer i would get to the last step (talking with aol) then my dialer would start over. after finally getting the 711 error (remote access control manager not starting) I went to services directory and tried manually starting the rac only to get error 126 cannot find desired module I go to windows support and find the error126 which tells me my srvsvc.dll file is missing or corrupted with the following solution insert windows restoration cd (hold control button to prevent program from starting) then click start\run\type in cmd enter type in expand E:\1386\system32\srvsvc.dl_ C:\windows\system32\srvsvc.dll click ok (enter) then i see cannot open E:\1386\system32\srvsvc.dl_ so i try expand E:\1386\system32\srvsvc.dll and i get copying from e:\1386\system32\srvsvc.dll to c:\windows\system32\srvsvc.dll cannot open c:\windows\system32\srvsvc.dll any help with this will be greatly appreciated |

I solved the problem by repairing my windows xp with my restoration cd . hopefully none of you have to experience that as i had to reinstall many microsoft updates including sp2 and ie 7 you can imagine doing that with a dial up connection lol anyway hopefully this will help someone else should they have the same problem i did
