Network troubles with 3rd pc
Hi, great site guys/girls
Hoping someone can enlighten me. I have 2 pc's hard wired to a netgear wireless router (standard sky router 4port) and a laptop linked wirelessly. I have installed a 3rd pc upstairs to run alongside music keyboard. I have run a cable from the router to a keystone wall mount in the room and have had a patch lead made up. The xp network has been run on the 3rd pc but i am still getting the "cable is unplugged" message. I have put a pci network card in and am still getting the same message. I have switched the connections on the keystone jack between A and B wirings. Any advice is greatly appreciated |

Re: Network troubles with 3rd pc
Well, this has all the earmarks of a wiring issue with the cable you've run, so you clearly need to take a closer look. Could the cable have been damaged? Have you used a meter to make sure the wires are all connected, and insured they're on the correct pins? Note that the pairs ARE significant!
