PPP line with At&T

Hi all,
This is a new T1 circuit. PPP. The second of 5 new lines. The first setup (line) worked fine, setups are the same except for IP addresses.

I can not get packets to go through the router.

From the router I can ping the next hop or any valid IP address.

From a desktop I can ping the Ethernet's port of the router and the Serial port of the router.

But from the desktop I can not ping outside to the next hop. (and have no internet connection of course)

IP routing is on, all IP addresses have been double checked.

Do you have any thoughts on this problem?

Thanks so much.

Re: PPP line with At&T

With no information at all about any of the network equipment, it's hard to provide much help...

Re: PPP line with At&T

Yes thanks John

I am trying to get help from At&T (its their line) but man, that is like pulling teeth.
My router Cisco 1841 all lights are green the circuit shows up in both the router show int and on the NIU.

Serial0/0/00 IP 12.88.11.14/30
Ethernet0/0IP 12.69.89.250/29

My desktop attached to Ethernet0/0 of router is 12.69.89.252/29
no other nodes on this network yet.

Logged into the router i can ping the next hop or any other valid IP and can ping the desktop.
From the desktop i can ping the router's S0/0/0 and FA0/0 ports but I can't ping the next hop or anything past the router.

Thanks for any thoughts

Nick

Re: PPP line with At&T

Well, it sounds like you're talking to the right folks. The thing past the router is AT&T's problem, right?
