OS: Windows Vista / Ubuntu 7.10 Dual-Boot

Won't Autodetect LAN
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 that came with Vista Basic installed. I switched to Ubuntu cold turkey, but now because of issues with my iPod I have decided to do a dual-boot setup. This morning I wiped my hard drive clean and reinstalled Vista. However, I am now left with internet connection issues.
I can connect to wireless networks just fine, but my campus' ethernet connection won't show up. On the Network Connections window there isn't even an icon for LAN, only for wireless. When I run on the Ubuntu Live CD, however, the internet connection works seamlessly. Currently I have only Vista installed on my hard disk, and am running off of the Ubuntu Live CD. I can connect to the internet just fine here, but Vista doesn't see anything. Is there a way to manually configure the connection? How do I fix this? |
