I am trying to set up my linksys wireless-G 2.4gz router on a Dell optiplex w/Windows 2000 Pro to connect to my Windows XP HP pavillion 7950 and wireless dell latitude d600 w/xp pro. My first issue is after following all directions, it keeps asking for a password after searching the device. I attempted to install this device on my father in laws old laptop through his cable network in Arizona until I discovered it was under 300 mg and would not work. Is this because I may have set an earlier password and forgot it? Either way, what can I do?

Re: Password
The default settings for Linksys is:
URL:192.168.1.1 User name: (this is left blank) Password: admin If that doesn't work then, reset the router by with the reset button on the back og the router. You'll need to use something small to push the reset button, like an ink pen or paper clip. |

Re: Password
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
When the computer is completely booted, let's see this. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
