Joining a Domain on XP Home
I 'm a newbie, so please bear with me. I'm running about 12 computers at work, all with XP Home, and a server with Windows Server 2003. I have been recently been learning about how to join a domain on XP Home, but I have also read that I don't get the advanced features like on XP Pro. The company I work for is too cheap to buy the Pro edition, so I have to make do with what I have. My question basiclly this: is it possible to get the XP Home computers to join our server's domain such that the computer users can logon using active directory? I've heard of Xteq X-Setup 6.1 utility. Does this help with the process at all?
Thanks! |

Re: Joining a Domain on XP Home
Nope, AFAIK, there is no way to do domain logins with XP-Home under AD. You can access shared resources on a server with XP-Home, but it's capability is limited. Here's a page about the hack you mention, note the limitations farther down the page: http://vowe.net/archives/001639.html
