IE7 Does not work but messenger and all other internet related programs work

I am currently on my desktop computer posting this.

Recently, on my laptop which is a toshiba vista, my mozilla firefox stopped
working, i dismissed the issue because i was "o what ever i always use internet explorer anyways" and soon enough my internet explorer stopped working

i get error messages such as page cannot be displayed and that it thinks i typed the link wrong

i cleared my dns cache and i have reset my firewall, disabled most scan programs restarted them and i scanned my computer fully

all other programs that use the internet work, such as messenger and some games

finally, i system restored my computer before a windows update and my internet worked fine, however i cannot do this forever because my computer automatically updates itself and i would have to system restore my laptop everyday to get internet

*sad fase* help..

Re: IE7 Does not work but messenger and all other internet related programs work

Sounds like malware to me.

Please follow the instructions here (5 pages) and then post all the requested logs in a new thread here for the security analysts to look at. If you have any trouble running any of the scans, leave them and move onto the next.

The security forum is always busy, so please be patient and you will receive a reply as soon as possible. If you go to Thread Tools > Subscribe at the top of your new thread you will receive an email as soon as a reply is posted.
