Re: Orange livebox Connection-can't connect

Connect the wired connection to the PC. I'm assuming this is Ethernet, not USB, is that correct?

Power down the PC and the Orange router.

Power up the Orange router, wait a couple of minutes.

Boot the PC, and when it's fully booted, please post this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Orange livebox Connection-can't connect

You have no wired hardware in that machine? First step here is to connect with a wired connection from the computer to the Orange router and get that working.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
  1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
  2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
  3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

Re: Orange livebox Connection-can't connect

NIC = Network Interface Card (Try Google)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.

Post the IPCONFIG /ALL again.

Re: Orange livebox Connection-can't connect

Well, for some reason the wired connection isn't showing up at all. Since it shows up in Device Manager, I can only assume you have either the wrong drivers, or the card has died.

Re: Orange livebox Connection-can't connect

The livebox also allows a wireless connection, but that does not work on my pc either.
Also, I used to be connected to wanado broadband a few years ago which also used the same type of livebox (the company was later taken over by orange). Could it be that there is some program in the computer that is blocking this connection??

Boot in Safe Mode with Networking and post another IPCONFIG /ALL while booted in Safe mode.
