Disconnecting every hour.
So yeah.. my internet disconnects every hour, even when im on games, my games disconnect every hour, msn doesn't, my brothers yahoo does and such.
I'm on Virgin media broadband.. and we have 3 comps hooked up on a router, its been this way ever since we got the internet, like.. 3 years ago, we just disconnect every single hour, its getting quite annoying, i've just put up with it for now, but i've really had enough of it -_- what should i do? :X |

Re: Disconnecting every hour.
I would use process of elimination. Does the link lights on router stay on when this happens? How about the computer. Does it happen on all pcs or just one. I would hook up just one pc to router and see if it still happens. If it does, then hook up the pc straight to the modem. Still happening. Hook up another pc straight to modem. Still happening. Then I would call the internet provider

Re: Disconnecting every hour.
I have been having disconection problems with my virgin modem too. Found out that my modem is loosing frequency. If you have a Webstar modem try this:-
Open internet explorer; in address bar type 192.168.100.1/gscan.htm and then click go; check the Downstream Frequency is at 331000000. If it isnt then change the starting frequency to this number 331000000. reboot the modem. The modem has to be connected directly to the pc, not through the router. Hope this helps. Lee |
