lan won't connect
Okay hi guys, this is the first time I have setup a LAN in my house. I have 3 computers.
Main computer connected to the internet. Second computer which is connects to the main for internet useage. Laptop which also connects to the main for the internet usage. My network is wireless. The hardware that I am using is the BeBox Thompson 780WL this is connected to the main computer. The laptop has a wireless network card, you guys dont really need the model number for that one as it is working perfectly fine. This computer uses a F5D7050 (ONE HELL OF AN ANNOYING USB ADAPTER, but finally microsoft has fixed this problem with an update you can download when doing an windows update, basically a problem not just what i experience but everyone all over the world when they connect this device at times it just won't get recognised) Anyway I have managed to setup a WLAN using all these devices, basically the main computer is sharing some files that I want to share across all the systems, the laptop works great, the connection maybe a tad bit slow but i dont expect me to be browsing through files as they are on my computer but as if i am surfing the net sort of speed. However I am experiencing a problem on my second computer, I did when I restored everything manage to get everything to show up on this computer, but the connection was so slooooooooooooooow, it was really not worth even using, sometimes it would even just crash. This would appear to happen when i tried to even option up the my network places or view network connections. Okay ever since then, I have removed my network by unsharing everything from my main computer, until now, basically I managed to somehow share a brand new folder and it loads perfectly fine, so what i tried to do is add previous folders that i wanted to share into the network but it does not even seem to appear on my second computer, so what i did was rename the folder and tried again, still it would not show. now when i go to my network places i have noticed what maybe causing the problem alltogether... ![]() ok so my internet works on my second computer which is where i am typing this message to you from... but this is wat it shows about the lan connection, now i dont know if i need to configure the settings but i thought if i updated the driver it may work, however it didnt, i have tried to reboot god knows how many times, there no point me even tryin to start a brand new wlan connection all together neither cos when it goes through the setup it says that i need to plug in my network device, which argh is already pluged in so how do i get my computer to recognise the fact that the hardware is actually indeed installed and all it has to do is locate it and allow me to use the network connections properly help meeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: lan won't connect
Well, that is the wired connection, and you say you're using wireless, so it's logical that the cable would be disconnected.
Let's see this for that computer. Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following two commands, one at a time, followed by the Enter key: NBTSTAT -n IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
