Bluetooth vs. Wifi?

I am going to install a wireless in my new place and I want to know what are the advantages/disadvantages of each. I already have a cell phone and pda that have bluetooth built into it but that should not be a major part of the decision. What are important to me are:

security
cost
dependability of signal (in different kinds of weather, etc)
useable distance
speed
