Cant Ping PC Names only IP
Hi there
Can somebody help me wih this small problem please? I have 2 separate LAN's and just completed reinstalling the OS, etc. Now that i have everything installed and configured, I cant ping my offsite computers using the computer assigned names except for the IP addresses. I can ping the computers on the same LAN using the computer names except they cant ping mine. Your help would really be appreciated. Thanks again |

Re: Cant Ping PC Names only IP
You need to tell us a lot more about the whole environment and how exactly these two networks interact. I'd like to see this as well.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following two commands, one at a time, followed by the Enter key: NBTSTAT -n IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
