Cry Printer Sharing Problems

I am having network printer sharing problems, I've tried all the suggestions that have appeared in other posts with similar problems, but with no success.
I have 3 PC's, A=Windows XP Pro, B=Windows Vista Home Basic, C(Laptop)Windows XP Home Edition.

A&B are connected by Ethernet via a Linksys WRT160N, C is connected via a wireless connection.

I can ping all 3 PC's from each other successfully, but I cannot share the printers that are attached (USB) to PC A

Any help, suggestions, tutorials would gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Mick

Re: Printer Sharing Problems

Do you have any software firewalls installed on computer A? example would be zonealarm. Have you installed the drivers for the printer in Computer B and C?

Re: Printer Sharing Problems

Yes, I have McAfee security suite on all 3, but while I've been trying to get the printer sharing working they are all disabled - I can however still ping between them all when they're enabled. No, I haven't installed the printer drivers onto the other PC's - should I? I'd always understood (perhaps wrongly) that the drivers were not required on the PC's that were going to be sharing?

Re: Printer Sharing Problems

all pc's and laptops have to be in the same workgroup file and print sharing must be enabled on pc A then you need to share the printer on pc A (right click on printer you want to share (if file and printer sharing is not enabled this will cause the wizard to start) give the printer a name with no spaces (just good practice) then go to laptop and from the run type \\pc A "computer name" you need to know the name of pc A (i.e. desktop) click ok the double click the printer and it will install
