Hi!
![]() I'm connecting a small office to our servers, hosted down the road by means of a wireless connection. Our hosting company has given me quotes on a Cisco 1841 router with a wan card etc. But I was hoping to just use a simple Netgear DGFV338 (or similar) for the small office LAN (it has a wan port and a wireless LAN - (not keen on cabling for office, 20 users)). Is the Cisco 1841 overkill (considering pricing), or is it necessary for the VPN? Does it matter what software etc the VPN is, like user access licences etc OR can I just use the Netgear (comes with a single ProSafe VPN license which I probably won't use) to connect to their VPN server (probably MS ISA server with IPSec VPN) The Netgear supports IPSec VPN with up to 50 VPN tunnels, which is enough I think. I'm not sure exactly how the VPN works as far as software goes, so any advice will be greatly appreciated! Whoot for this forum! |
