Question Free Network monitor software?

HI,

I am trying yo find some freeware/open source software for monitoring network traffic.

Im particullarly looking for something with a visual interface if possible and something that will show the HTTP requests/responses and data. Also what ports are being used and what the data content is.

I am thinking of setting up a small LAN via a router, 4 PCs, to demo the protocols etc in use. Ill probably setup IIS or apache to emulate a web server to generate some traffic.

Tried to find stuff on the web but overwhelmed by whats on offer.

Will be using Windows 2000.

Thanks.
JD

Re: Free Network monitor software?

WireShark is an excellent and free snitter, it's what I use.
