computers on network dont show up
i have 4 computers connected at my place. all of them on the same workgroup and with correct ips. but still sometimes when i click "view workgroup computers" i dont see one or two computesr so i have to access the using "\\192.168.0.xx" command.
whats the problem |

Here is a couple possible answers to your problem. A.) Do you have file and printer sharing enabled each of the PC that you are trying to view. B.) Do you have the Window's Firewall option enabled on any of the PC's or do you have any type of 3rd party firewall (Norton, McVee, HouseCall ...etc) running that will be blocking the viewing connection. C.) Does you router,hub, or switch have a built in firewall that might be blocking these. D.) Are they all running the same OS because Vista has a huge problem with not allowing it to view other connected devices due to its new enchanced security options.

Not big on Vista but with XP and below computers, "My Network Places" is flaky at best and would be best if you didn't use it. Everything could be setup perfectly and you will still have issues getting all computers to show up on the map.
