NIC driver

I'm really frustrated with this so here we go.

I just installed XP on my secondary hard drive so I could dual boot. I have 2000 on my primary. I'm not a very big fan of xp so I wanted to be able to switch back to 2000 if I had any problems with xp. And guess what, I did.

I have a network card called "Network Everywhere nc100" and on the box it clearly states that it works with XP but it isn't. I guess according to the manufacture that xp should find the driver and install it all by itself with out any problems. Well on 2000 it labels the device as Network Everywhere fast ethernet adapter (nc100 v2). On xp it lists it as Linksys Network Everywhere fast ethernet adapter (nc100). I didn't think it was a Linksys product so I'm totally confused because network everywhere has it's own website and the nic is listed on there but it's also listed on linksys.

So anyways. The drivers come on a floppy, yes crazy huh. And I do not have a floppy drive. Now when I first installed it I did so I could get the drivers from there. So when I saw that xp didn't get the drivers itself I switched to 2000 and tried to download the drivers from the network everywhere site. Well the download is somehow not working, I've tried several different times. So I actually went to linksys and downloaded theirs. The driver has several million versions all packed into one zip, 95,98,2000 but no xp. I've tried changing the registry so I could use this other driver but whatever I try xp doesn't want to use any drivers except it's one that it found.

The only option I can think of at this point is to buy a new NIC which is great, I found a decent one and I'd like a faster one anyways. But I don't know if theres some other way to get this to work.

Sorry for this being so long but I though I'd let you know the whole story.

Re: NIC driver

Hmm... http://www.networkeverywhere.com/sup...100support.asp

Looks like a pretty old adapter, I think the new adapter is the answer here.
