Advanced Networking Question
I work for a very small hospital (80 pc's, 5 servers)
We are building a new hospital about 1000 yards away from the old one. The old hospital is a flat, very un sophisticated network The new hospital is Nortel ( 8300 core with 6 edge switches) We have a wireless solution between the buildings If we connect the 2 buildings up without the 8300 core switch, everthing works fine. Once we add the core switch to the mix, our old hospital network starts to act funny and becomes un-functional. Right when we disconnect the 8300 core switch from the mix, everthign works good. Question is: Can you connect a flat layer 2 network wirelessly to a layer 3 network. It seems like the 8300 is smart and sees the traffic going over the wirleless and wants to play, the only problem is that it doesn't play nice. Any ideas? |
