[SOLVED] reseting ip stack has no effect
I am having a problem and I'm starting to loose my mind.
Any help would be much appreciated. The OS is WinXP SP1A. For a long time, I've been using the Broadcom Xtreme network adapter on my ASUS motherboard. For some reason it likes to crap out on me after a little while, especially when i'm moving large amounts of data from one computer to another via FTP. The only way to reset it is rebooting the computer. I've spent months troubleshooting it, and I cannot seem to solve the problem. (resting the ip stack does nothing) I decided to just buy a PCI network adapter for $20.00 I got a D-Link DGE-530T. I put it in my computer, installed the drivers, everthing went normally. I loaded up Firefox and no internet. Loaded up IE, no internet. So I drop to the command prompt and ping my router. It responds. I ping google and wikipedia. They respond. (oh yeah i turned the firewall off) Then I remembered that I should flush the ip stack with the "netsh int ip reset reset.txt" command, and it works. Computer working normally. =) OK THIS IS WHERE IT STARTS SUCKING. A few days later, my router times out. I reboot it. Now I'm having the same problem as above. I can ping out, my other 2 computers have normal internet, the router sees the problem network adapter, but I still can't get Firefox, IE, or any FTP connection on this one machine. Now when I reset the ip stack, it doesn't work. (nor does rebooting or ipconfig release and renew) How do I fix this problem? Thanks, sts |
