[SOLVED] Problem with wireless router

I have a Dell Inspiron 1200 and I have a WGT624v3/WGT624SC router and WG511T Wireless PC Card and i had to reset my router today so i lost all my previous settings. When i went to into my router with my Laptop directly hooked up into the router with the internet hooked correctly up to the modem i had no internet usage. Also the www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 does not respond in IE 7.0.5730.13.

It appears you have the modem connected to one of the router's LAN ports, not the WAN/Internet port.

No they are all hooked up correctly that is why this all confuses me...

i agree... if you can ping yahoo then it can't be the cabling. what exactly is the problem? you can't connect to any site with IE?

The problem is that after factory resetting the Router it hands out IPs on the same subnet that the DSL Modem is handing out IPs on. Unplug the DSL Modem from the Router, plug your PC into the router, navigate to 192.168.1.1, you should now be able to get into your router. On the DHCP server section change the ip address of the router to 192.168.2.1 and restart it. On your PC go to Start, Run, CMD, and type IPCONFIG /release and press enter, then IPCONFIG /renew and press enter.
Now plug the DSL modem into the WAN port on the Router. You should have internet access now.

Thank you very much that worked beautifully... I dont know how to update this as being Fixed but im sure a mod can do that right? thank you sooo much
