2 lan cards
This is probably a dumb question (OK, it is a dumb question), but what are the reasons to have 2 LAN cards on one computer? I see a lot of motherboards coming with 2 integrated. The only thing I can figure out is to set up a computer to act as a router to connect to a modem and a second computer, or is there a gaming purpose for this? (I am not a gamer so I wouldn’t know). I would think there has to be more uses to make it worthwhile to put 2 on the MB. I noticed this shopping for parts to build a new CAD computer and got curious.
Thanks |

Re: 2 lan cards
If you were building a server, you might have a use for them. Also, if you wanted to connect to two networks, they could be useful. However, for most folks, you simply have an extra.
