Cannot access wireless airport extreme gui

I have a wireless airport extreme that I cannot access the gui.

I am browsing the internet over it right now (Wirelessly). IPCONFIG shows the IP as 10.0.1.1 but I cannot access it or even get a password prompt. I tried with IE and Firefox.

Does the extreme require a etherneted connection to access the gui?

Is there a setting on them that does not allow access to the gui through a wireless connection?

thanks

Re: Cannot access wireless airport extreme gui

It's not advisable to ever configure a router through the wireless connection for obvious reasons. I don't know that they've restricted that capability on the wireless, but it would be a good idea. Connect it with a wire and see if that changes the situation.
