Windows wireless service failure

Hi friends:

First of all, this is my first post to this forum. Second, I am a power user but not a real techy.

Now, this is the issue put simply. I have been using an HP laptop with Vista Home Premium for 4 months and all has gone well with my wireless connection. It has always been immediate and with strong signal strength.
Two nights ago I noticed that I had no connection. Now, every time I boot I must diagnose the lack of connection. I get a "Windows Wireless Service not running" message, with the option to repair. One I repair, the "problem has been solved" and all is ok until I need to reboot.

I have googled and tried many things to no avail.

Can you help? This is a nuisance.

I've read several reports where Vista's SP1 will solve this issue, don't know if that's actually true or not.

In all my searching I haven't seen any suggestions about Vista SP1. But anyway, is it ready and available?

Next month.

I have it on a machine here, the wheels didn't fall off. However, it's currently only available to MSDN and Technet subscribers and select corporate users.

What if I'm not one of those for whom it is available. I'm not!
