Workgroup Computer Icon Disappearing
I have XP with SP2 installed on 2 machines which are networked together in a workgroup. I have some folders and printers shared together. The network was very stable until SP2 (it seems) was installed. Now, it is 95% of the time stable in that I can connect to my secretary's files and printers but sometimes the icon for her machine disappears. When I do a search of the workgroup, the machine is visible but it does not restore the icon.
Once a week or so it does become disconnected and when I go to her machine I have found every time that the network card is disabled. Enabling it restores all the connections. It's not a big deal...I'm just wondering if there is a setting I need to adjust. I have checked the firewall issue and have the file and print sharing as an exception. Any ideas? Thanks for your help! Nic Showalter |
