Help Help Help!!
Hay Everyone,
Ok I’m having a problem connecting to the internet and here's the thing: I have connected my modem and have recently reinstalled Windows on my PC, I followed the installation guide through my ISP CD, when the software on the CD tries to reset my DHCP (By connecting to the provider), it takes a few minutes then come up with a ‘failure’ message, the software then advises me to go back to the previous step to make sure all the connections and wires have been set up properly. Now on the network options screen I tried connecting my modem using ‘Windows wizard’ but I get a ‘Limited status or no connectivity’ message, with the usual exclamation box on the computers icon on the bottom left of my screen. What annoying is that, when I put the same RG45 cable, from my modem, into the back of my laptop, it works fine, don’t need to do anything, the internet runs. I have also compared the settings of my Laptop and my PC, both are identical. Software on my: PC: Windows XP SP2 Laptop: Windows XP SP2 Version 2002 Can someone please help me, its so annoying. Thanks. |
