peer to peer network crashes

I have a windows 2000 professional computer networked with a win98se computer with a crossover cable. Recently, when I save or print from the 98 computer to the 2000 computer, the Windows 2000 crashes immediately. However, I can access the network on both sides. I can also save from the win 2k computer. Any ideas?

Re: peer to peer network crashes

Have you checked the event log to see if anything is logged? Exactly how does it "crash"?

it crashes immediately and reboots with no error message. How do I view the event log?

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, check all the logs, but the System log is probably where you'll find any errors.

Re: peer to peer network crashes

The event log says Eventid 9 Source kbdclass Could not enable interrupts on connected port device \Device\KeyboardClass0. Do you have any idea what this means

Re: peer to peer network crashes

Not offhand, but it doesn't sound like a networking issue. However, if this only happens right around the time of the crash, it could be a clue as to what's happening.
