Trying to network xbox 360 and computer

I'm trying to connect my 360 to my computer's internet to enable live. Following this method: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/ics_xp.htm.

I get an error message at step 3 when I try to share the network from my computer. It states that :the specified service does not exist as an installed service.

I am connected to the internet through a friends wireless router a couple hundred feet away which I suspect is the problem somehow. My computer gets the internet fine.

I am guessing my computer need to be the "base" of the network for this method. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
