Trying to network xbox 360 and computer
I'm trying to connect my 360 to my computer's internet to enable live. Following this method: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/ics_xp.htm.
I get an error message at step 3 when I try to share the network from my computer. It states that :the specified service does not exist as an installed service. I am connected to the internet through a friends wireless router a couple hundred feet away which I suspect is the problem somehow. My computer gets the internet fine. I am guessing my computer need to be the "base" of the network for this method. Is there any way around this? Thanks. |

Re: Trying to network xbox 360 and computer
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:
Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
