ics internet gateway appears but no internet

hi. i am trying to connect a desktop to the internet via ics with a laptop as the host computer. i enable everything and can see the internet gateway on the client computer but when i open a web browser or anything else internet related it does not work. when i go into the settings for the internet gateway dhcp is not enabled. i try to enable it but it says something about failed port mapping and stops. dns is also not checked. i think this may be the source of my problem but i have no idea how to fix it and have found little help searching online.

On each of the machines, let's see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following two commands:

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
