network connections confused

I have a computer with many network connections, probably too many but dont know what to delete or keep.
Not sure how I aquired these.
My computer is hard wired through a wireless router into a modem, 4 mg connection.
This is what I have got.

INTERNET GATEWAY
internet connection connected
Internet connection

LAN OR HIGH SPEED INTERNET
1394 connection
connected,firewalled
1394 net adapter

Local area connection
aquiring network address, firewalled
sis 900 based pci fast ethernet A........

Local area connection 2
network cable unplugged,firewalled
Realtek RTL8139 family pci fast.

It wont let me delete the one that isnt connected ?
What do you think I should have activated and what can I delete if any ?
Thanks

Re: network connections confused

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: network connections confused

Hmm... I only see a single NIC recognized by Windows.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

Re: network connections confused

Actually, the on-board one is not recognized by Windows, and you are using the SIS card.

Re: network connections confused

Your IPCONFIG only showed one connection.
