ACCES DENIED, Networking with an EXTERNAL HD
I have a desk top with a Maxtor External connected. I have a laptop on my wireless network. I have set both drives for sharing. I have successfully mapped the network drive from the laptop to both the C drive of the desktop and the F drive (which is the external). I can access the folders on the C drive. But when I try and access the folders on the external (F drive), I get "ACCESS DENIED You don't have permission..."
I wish to be able to back up my laptop to the external drive and access and change the files in the external from the laptop. I have disabled both the windows firewall and my anti-virus program and still no luck. Suggestions? Additional Information: Both machines are running Windows XP. The Maxtor EDH is USB connected. Re: ACCES DENIED, Networking Problem
Windows XP
I have found a workaround. I have to go in and manually configure each folder to share on the network. It's cumbersome but it works. Thanks for your help. DeeBow |

Re: ACCES DENIED, Networking Problem
There was a simpler solution.
