Hi! I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 430 CDS laptop. I have an internal 33.6k modem in my laptop.
I have a DSL connection wired to my desktop and would like to share this connection with my laptop computer by making my laptop go wireless. What are the requirements to setup my laptop to go DSL if this is an old computer? I have 2 5mm pc card slots or 1 10.5 mm slot. Can I use a wireless pc card to run on my old computer? Please advise. thanks. bye! ![]() |

Re: plan to go wireless on internet and networking
So, all I need is a wireless pc card? This Toshiba Sat Pro 430 cds is a 120 mhz speed. Will this new wireless pc card work with this notebook or does it need a faster notebook processor to use it? What is the software requirement needed to run this pc card? I only have a 1.26 gb hard disk drive on it. The notebook runs on Windows 98 and windows office 2000.
So, overall, my question is, will the pc card work in my laptop regardless of the processor speed or is this important? What processor speed is recognized by this pc card so as to be able to run a wireless network on my specific laptop computer. Please help! thanks. bye!! ![]() |

Re: plan to go wireless on internet and networking
Probably isn't universal but the Linksys wireless g pc card adapter specifies 200 mhz or higher. You could check other brands easily enough by visiting their web sites and having a look at the product specs or data sheets.
