Cry [SOLVED] Network/internet help

Hello I just joined, and I have some problems. (sorry if this has already been posted or in the wrong section) Anyway, I'm trying to play Xbox LIVE using a ethernet cable from the xbox to my laptop. Now its connected currently to the family laptop and working, but the laptop is kinda slow so I wanted to move it. What I do is, plug it in via ethernet, then go to control panel, network connections and internet connections/ network connections/ right click my wireless connection and select properties and this is where the trouble starts. You see with the family laptop when I go into properties and click advanced settings, it has a box that allows me to share my internet connection and if I do this it works, but with MY laptop this box, nay the whole section is absent, dose anyone know how I can get this box to appear so I can hook my Xbox up to my faster laptop. (because sometimes xbox LIVE crashes, but this is not my internet speed being too slow because the other computers stay up, and the family one goes down. However my laptop is quite quick so I wished to have it run of mine instead of the family one) Sorry for the wall of text. (oh and I checked all the drivers and everything seems to be in check)

Re: Network/internet help

You would be much better off if you could plug directly into a router. that would eliminate many of your speed issues.

Re: Network/internet help

Cant its too far away, and when I said speed, I meant the speed of the laptop that was plugged in, its like old... really old, but mines new, and this is why I need to find out how to make it work.

Re: Network/internet help

You probably don't have two network adapters, which is a requirement for ICS.

Let's see this for that laptop:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Network/internet help

Hmm... You seem to have the basic requirements for ICS. Are you saying the ICS tab doesn't appear at all on the wireless connection properties in the advanced tab? Can you post a screen shot?

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

FWIW, here's what I see.
