Now try pinging the actual DNS address instead of the machine's address.

The DNS address is 192.168.1.130, not 192.168.1.100.

I have a similar problem but I found that the problem is with Zone Alarm. When I can not connect if I shut down Zone Alarm I can connect then. This usually happens when I am not on the internet for a while. I have not had time to uninstall Zone Alarm yet but I am going to do that and reinstall it this weekend. Just something to look at.

So, you can ping the Default Gateway and DNS address when it's not working...
