[SOLVED] Wierdest Problem EVER!!!! (2PC-LAN-NO-ROUTER--ICS)

ok so got 2 pcs
1 - vista ultimate
2 - xp pro

pc 1 connected directly to internet (dial-up)
have 2 LAN Cards 1 used for modem and 2nd used to connect to other pc
the NIC used for 2-pc-connection set like that:
ip : 192.168.0.1
subnt mask: 255.255.255.0

and in dial-up under sharing i checked the box saying:
"Allow other network users connect through this pc connection"
and choosed the NIC i mentioned above (with ip set 192.168.0.1)

pc 2 has only 1 NIC card which is connected with crossover RJ45.
now it set as followed:
ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gatewey: 192.168.0.1
primary dns: 192.168.0.1

ALL Should work
i connect them both on lan (ping works from both to each other - ping 192.168.0.1 or ping 192.168.0.2 from the other 1...)
so i connect to internet with the dialup on pc 1 - internet works on it!~
on the 2nd pc:
ftp: (direct ip connections) works
counter strike servers: works
icq: works

now
urls:
www.google.com works
i can search - got results for search (no cookies i reset all iexplorer settings before try) also search for blahblah give results
BUT
nothing else is working
no ebay
no yahoo
no msn
no ANY OTHER WEBSITE

HELP!!!!!
btw if i try to connect other website first it just dont work and then EVEN google.com not working :(

taa :)

Re: Wierdest Problem EVER!!!! (2PC-LAN-NO-ROUTER--ICS)

On each system, please do this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following two commands:

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALLl

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Try these simple tests.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

PING 216.109.112.135

PING yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Wierdest Problem EVER!!!! (2PC-LAN-NO-ROUTER--ICS)

Actually, those lines are correct. You don't seem to have ICS actually running on the primary machine.

IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Try the following fixes for Vista and post another IPCONFIG for the primary machine. There's no need to make them CODE, it just makes me have to scroll them and creates more work.

Changes that may help to increase the compatibility of Vista with older networking devices:

Disable the IP Helper service:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
2. Scroll down to the IP Helper service, right click on it and select Properties
3. In the dropdown box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to Disabled and then click on "Apply"
4. Then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session
5. Click OK to exit the dialog

Disable IPv6:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "ncpa.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
2. Right click on each network connection and select "Properties"
3. Remove the checkmark from the box next to "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
4. Click OK to exit the dialog

NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.

Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:

Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233
  1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter regedit and press Enter.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
  3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{GUID}
  4. In this registry path, click the (GUID) subkey to be updated.
  5. If the key DhcpConnForceBroadcastFlag does not exist, use the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value. In the New Value #1 box, type DhcpConnForceBroadcastFlag, and then press ENTER. If the key exists, skip this step.
  6. Right-click DhcpConnForceBroadcastFlag, and then click Modify.
  7. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
  8. Close Registry Editor.
NOTE: You should do this for each and every GUID subkey.
NOTE2: (GUID) is a mnemonic for the individual subkeys, the actual text "GUID" does not appaer.

The only program I'm aware of that currently relies on IPv6 is the new Windows Meeting Space. The first 2 changes will cause that program not to work - but will leave all of your normal (IPv4) connections unaffected. If it causes problems that you can't overcome, simply revert back to the original settings.

Re: Wierdest Problem EVER!!!! (2PC-LAN-NO-ROUTER--ICS)

ICS is still not running. Go to the ICS configuration and disable ICS on that machine, do the repair below, then enable ICS again. Post another IPCONFIG /ALL after you do that.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista.

Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Re: [SOLVED] Wierdest Problem EVER!!!! (2PC-LAN-NO-ROUTER--ICS)

k mate im afraid there's that kind of virus or worm harming those NICs properties
after like 10-15 min it all got back to not-wroking-like-before state
without me touching a thing!! :(
when i use those 3 commands and repair NIC + reboot on first pc its ok again for limited (small) time...
maybe hijackthis needed here?
