Re: networking problem
For each computer, please do this.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: nbtstat -n Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: networking problem
Failure to ping is almost always a firewall configuration issue. I'd disable ALL the firewalls to start and see if you can make some progress.

Re: networking problem
Well I found one problem, the DHCP Server IP address settings for the router was set at the wrong range. I don't know how that happened, but when I reset them to the right ranges I was able to ping all computers from and to each other, with and without firewall. The only problem I have now is I can see and access all the shared folders on computer 1 from the other 2 computers, but I can't see or access the shared folders on the network, from computer 2 or laptop.

Re: networking problem
Can you ping ALL the computers by name? What is the specific error you get when you try to access that machine?

Re: networking problem
I see that you have DHCP disabled on the one computer. Unless there's a specific reason to do that, I'd enable that.
Let's try resetting the stack. TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reboot the machine.

Re: networking problem
Check your Services are Started on all PCs:
Note: You can check the services in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic (or perhaps manual).

Re: networking problem
Well, the Computer Browser not running is a problem. Did you check the properties to see why it didn't start?

Re: networking problem
Did you look at the properties and see if it's not starting because of a service it depends on failing to run?

Re: networking problem
If Computer Browser isn't starting, that will be a major stumbling block. Look in the Event Log and see what it says about any errors starting it. Did you try starting it manually? If so, and it didn't start, it should have given you an error. Post that error.
