Wireless connection disconnects every 3 minutes

I have a Netgear DG340 wireless router and have three different PC's connected to it through wireless connections, and one laptop connected straight to the router. However, only recently I have started to connect the laptop through a wireless connection. However, every three minutes the wireless connection disconnects, and comes up with the message, ' one or more wireless connection are available to see a list of available connections click here,' I know that it is not the wireless USB adaptor, because I have tried it on many other computer's...I have no idea what is making the connection disconnect every couple of minutes....

Re: Wireless connection disconnects every 3 minutes

Make sure that WZC is disabled in Services if you're using the 3rd party wireless client supplied with the USB adapter. Of course, the make/model of the adapter, and the version and patch level of Windows would be a big help here.

Re: Wireless connection disconnects every 3 minutes

I am using a Belkin 54mbps Wireless G USB Adapter, with windows XP professional sp1, although I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the adaptor as I have tried several other adapters on this laptop which also had this problem, and these worked fine on other pc's...

Re: Wireless connection disconnects every 3 minutes

SP2 fixes a HOST of wireless issues, and IMO it's a mandatory update for wireless operation with XP. I'd install that first.
