Thumbs Up Discovery of Wireless Network delayed

Hi,
I have a ACER laptop, with XP loaded , AMD X2 Turion. Model 4520.
Recently, I have been having a trouble with it , as it doesnot recognize the Wireless network signals for long time (around 30 min) after being switched on.
When asked to discover networks it discovers them immediately but on connection it doesnot do immediately. I have to keep it on for 30 mins or more and then suddenly it starts catching signals. Post that it works normally. I was given no information from my vendor. He asked me to format the Hard disk for virus troubles, which I did. Post that also I am having the same problems.
Can some one help me out, I guess some service doesnt start immediately in the back and that is why this problem is occuring.
Thanks in advance, I would deeply appreciate.

Re: Discovery of Wireless Network delayed

please try the following and tell me what happens

move your laptop so it is say ten feet away from your router!
please inform us where you receive your wireless signal from?

if this resolves the problem i suggest buying a plug in wireless adapter for your laptop as the internal one may be very weak!

if not it is possible you have a bug in windows when trying to receive an automatic ip address, it would be helpfull to know your TCP/IP settings
the information needed to find this is easily found on the internet using google

in the bottom right of your screen there is an icon resembling a pc monitor which may be flashing, hover over it with your mouse cursor and tell me any text provided?

then i can help

regards
