[SOLVED] Sharing printer problem
I’m having a problem trying to share a printer on my home network. It’s been fine for a long time, however I suspect it might have something to do with some new security software I recently installed on both computers (Kaspersky 7.0)
The computers are connected by cat5 cable via an ADSL Router Here’s the set up: PC A Computer Name: Dell Workgroup: HOUSE IP: 192.168.2.3 Windows XP Home SP3 Kaspersky Firewall Settings-->Zone-->Local Network-->192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 Rule: Allow File and Printer Sharing (NetBIOS) PC B Computer Name: Alex Workgroup: HOUSE IP: 192.168.2.2 Windows XP Pro SP3 Kaspersky Firewall Settings-->Zone-->Local Network-->192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 Rule: Allow File and Printer Sharing (NetBIOS) I’m trying to share the printer on PC B, by right clicking it and choosing to ‘Share This Printer’ When I go to PC A to add another printer, after the search is finished, it displays no results. (See attached image). I can ping each computer successfully by IP and name so they are obviously seeing each other, but can’t see the printer? Any help would be appreciated ![]() |

Re: Sharing printer problem
I got it to work - but only by typing in the network address of the printer to add it.
Not sure why it can't browse and display it in the add printer search though... Thanks anyway ![]() |

It happens sometimes.
