Connect two computer via USB

I would like to connect two computer via USB Host Link, one is a desktop the other a laptop. Would it be possible to do this without using the monitor with the desktop? Both are using WinXP Prof.

I've never tried to use the USB transfer cables, and I don't think you can do what you are looking to do in that manner. You could have the desktop boot with something like UltraVNC configured and use it's remote control capability over a network link.
