Which Router ?

Hi Guys/Gals

I currently have 3 pc's connected to my Netgear Rangemax wpn824 wireless router via my (virgin cable) Scientific Atlanta EPC2100R2 modem. My problem is the router keeps disconnecting from the internet. Sometimes 2/3 times a day and sometimes a lot more. I normally just unplug the router, plug in again and everything is fine again until the next time. Now and again when it happens i just hard wire the laptop to the modem and its still online. So i think its all down to my router.

Its out of warrenty now so ringing up netgear tech support is no help. I went into the router settings and changed the channel settings and that worked for a whopping 5 days without disconnecting.

So does anyone know what my problem could be ?.

Also if i cant sort it out i am gonna get a new router.

Whatever router i get must be able to handle a 20 meg connection (yeah right). At the moment i am thinking Belkin.

Any thought's anyone.

Re: Which Router ?

Have you tried upgrading the firmware on your existing router? Many times that will solve disconnection issues.

Personally, I have a pretty low opinion of most Belkin products, so I can't really recommend a Belkin model. If it were my money, I'd stick with Linksys, D-Link, or Netgear myself.
