Is the browser set to Work Offline in the File menu?

Have you run the connect to the internet wizard in Network Connections??

Done both of those
Icannot access the router at all Whenever I open mozilla firefox or IE it just says unable to find page.Whatever I type in.
Even the router address gets the same reply

I am just about to give up

Ok Guys I finally sorted this out.
Don't know if it's a common one !
Had a look what programs were loaded on startup.
Found Norton loading up and enabling a firewall.
Disabled all norton controls at startup

Now works a treat

Strange but true
