Xbox 360 networking with Vista ( Help Please!! )

I have been looking for an answer to this for weeks now. I think I have read everything on the internet. I need some help......

I have a laptop with Windows VISTA that I connect to the Internet through my Samsung Blackjack Cell phone ( internet sharing with Windows Mobile ) that connects via USB. I have no other choice at my current location, it is pretty fast though.

I have an Xbox 360 that I am tryin to connect to Xbox Live. I have a crossover and ethernet cable. The Xbox fails the IP Address test every time.

I have tried to set up the Internet Connection sharing through the network and sharing center but the following message appears:
Error occured while trying to enable Internet Connection Sharing

I also tried to bridge the connections, the Xbox Passes the IP test, but I lose my internet connection.

I thank you guys in advance, maybe you can help me not to start smashing them with a hammer.......

Edit:Here is another one from an outside source, I realise that this is to connect through media center on vista but if this is configured properly your xbox should be fine.

I got it figured out this morning. I had to bridge then restart the computer, then restart all at once i gt it know thoughif anyonbe needs some tips... Gratsi

I need tip casue I tryed the same thing and to link up my Xbox live with my Laptop and I get and IP but not DNS fails... What did you do?

go into network connections select that connection and there should be an enable internet sharing see if that helps

I did but that doesn't seem to do any thing but a Failed IP address... I did everything and anything to get this to work and it just doesn't want to give... I'm pretty sure it's VISTA problem....lol
